Matt Bellamy

Who's this guy?
Born on the 9th of June, he is Matthew James Bellamy, a musician from the band "MUSE". There he sings, plays the guitar and the piano, also is the principal composer, and is, basically, the leader in the band.

He impressed me when I saw him for the first time at the Olympic Games of London 2012, playing them new song "Survival". For me, it was a way to make music that i've never heard before, with a strong piano, an eccentric voice with powerful falsettos and crazy guitar solos. After that, I began to heard the band, what was very beneficial for my "musical evolution".

Another think that impressed me was his early life. Son of the rhythm guitarrist of the band "The Tornados" (George Bellamy), he started to play the piano at the age of 6, guitar at his 11, and at his 12 was his first performance, where he played piano in front of his school. And at that age he was far better than I :(

Much later in Devon (England), in 1994, Dominic Howard, Christopher Woltenholme and Matt Bellamy formed the band Muse. They published them first album "Showbiz" in 1999, followed by "Origin of Symmetry" in 2001, "Absolution" in 2003 and "Black Holes and Revelations" in 2006. So far the band was perfect for me. After that, Muse released two album that weren't as great as the others, but they were still good. The last album released this year is called "Drones", but I haven't donwloaded bought it yet.

Concluding this post, I show you here the moment when I change my musical mind, the time when I fell in love at first listen.

PS: Why do I wrote about a guy who din not even studied in a conservatory? Well, I don't know very much about orchesta directors, or university teachers. So I decided talk about the guy who motivated me study music.

2011

I really love this photo. I took it. It makes me feel proud, because I've never thought I cud take an awesome picture with a phone with a 2 megapixel camera.

I was in a march in 2011, the year of the big student revolution. The police and them water and gas cars ("guanaco" and "zorrillo") were shooting us to "clean" the Alameda of "vandals" (they really think that) and we have to run away. We were at a few blocks away of the Alameda, and because of the tear gas, many of us were crying and covering our nose.

Then some guys started to lighting lots of fires. As someone told me, they served to reduce the gas effect, and it really worked. I've never seen it before, so I took a photo. Later I saw iy on the pc and I was impressed. I imagined it as a newspaper image.

I don't know, maybe is the combination between the fire, the people, the liquor store, the guy on the right with a Misfits t-shirt and an anarchist tattoo, and, of course, the damaged traffic lights. But I really like this photograph.

...

The same year (maybe the same day) I took this one. I uploaded to my facebook, and a minutes later I saw it on jaidefinichon.com!
