2011

I really love this photo. I took it. It makes me feel proud, because I've never thought I cud take an awesome picture with a phone with a 2 megapixel camera.

I was in a march in 2011, the year of the big student revolution. The police and them water and gas cars ("guanaco" and "zorrillo") were shooting us to "clean" the Alameda of "vandals" (they really think that) and we have to run away. We were at a few blocks away of the Alameda, and because of the tear gas, many of us were crying and covering our nose.

Then some guys started to lighting lots of fires. As someone told me, they served to reduce the gas effect, and it really worked. I've never seen it before, so I took a photo. Later I saw iy on the pc and I was impressed. I imagined it as a newspaper image.

I don't know, maybe is the combination between the fire, the people, the liquor store, the guy on the right with a Misfits t-shirt and an anarchist tattoo, and, of course, the damaged traffic lights. But I really like this photograph.

...

The same year (maybe the same day) I took this one. I uploaded to my facebook, and a minutes later I saw it on jaidefinichon.com!
